Prof. Sheng-lyang Jang, National Taiwan university of science and technology,  ROC

Sheng-Lyang Jang received the B.S. degree from National Chiao-Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1981, the M.S. degree from National Taiwan University, Taipei, in 1983, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville, in 1989. During 1983–1985, he served as an Engineer Officer in the Navy, Keelung, Taiwan, for his mandatory military service. His first professional association was with Syntek Semiconductor Co. in 1985 in Taipei as a CAD design engineer responsible for the MOSFET model parameter extraction. His second professional association was with United Microelectronics Corporation in 1986 in Hsinchu as an IC design engineer. After receiving his Ph.D. degree in 1989, he joined the Department of Electronics, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, and became a Full Professor in 1993. His research crosses the fields of semiconductor device physics, device modeling, and circuit design, investigating the ultimate capabilities of microelectronic devices in high-electric field, low voltage, or low level of electrical signal. He has coauthored more than 293 SCI-indexed journal papers in semiconductor devices and radio-frequency circuits. He also holds 17 U S patents and 17 Taiwan patents. His research area covers the compact high-field MOSFET model for the gate current, substrate current, drain current, and post-stress drain current. He co-invented many high-performance RF oscillators and wide-locking range LC injection-locked frequency dividers.
